Cover of the Book

Seeing the cover of the book should not affect if you buy it or not. People all over the world judge a

book by how it look from its outside. Seeing it from the outside, makes your first impression of the book, but

you  shouldn´t stay with the first expression and actually take a look at it form inside. Inside of a book is what

really matters.

Honestly I do judge a book by its cover and i buy the book depending on how it looks from the outside.

Difference Between The Movie and The Book "Lord of the Flies"

The Lord of the Flies the movie by Harry Hook and the book by William Golding shows many differences. In the movie the pilot stays a while in the island. Another difference is that in the movie the boys were American and not British. In the book they show the littlun´s death and in the movie they don´t.
One of the many differences is that in the book, William Golding decided that the pilot would not be shown alive. In the movie, Harry Hook, keeps the pilot alive just making us enable to see Golding’s point of view. The reason why this makes a difference is because in the book they need a chief because they need a figure like grownup to guide them and tell them what to do.
In the movie the boys were American and they came from the same school and in the book they were from different schools and they were from England. This makes a difference because in the movie Jack and Ralph show how they are friends at the beginning because they are from the same school. Choosing the chief in the movie is easier because Ralph was the Coronel (highest position.) In the book they are from different schools and this make it harder for both to get along. It makes it harder to get along because Jack and Ralph both want to be chief.
Another difference between the movie and the book Lord of The Flies is that in the book one of the littluns dies in the big flames of the fire made by the members on the island and in the movie they don´t show the death. Harry Hook decided not to incorporate this is because it introduces the first death of a member in the island. It shows the lack of order, and the need of a grownup.
A movie and a book are different in many ways; these alterations make a big impact on the conclusion of the story. Seeing the movie and reading the book, made me realize the importance of the chances that Harry Hook and William Golding made. My opinion about the book is that it was well planned and the ideas were arranged in a good way. Although the movie I think is missing some detail in order to make the film make sense.

You Can´t Have It All

But you can have your room as silent as the evening and dark like the immense galaxy in outer space.
You can have your mom waking you up in middle of the night, just when your dream is getting to the fun part saying, “Andres, we need to go.”
You can have a good morning with the sweet smell of fresh pancakes and the aromatic scent of a coffee.
You can have an education, being able to study each day like monkey being able to climb each day.
You can have a house, the confortable sofas and the welcoming smile from each member of your family.
You can have a pet, who helps you when you need them, and cheer you up when you´re down.
You can have a pleasant day, with the people you love the most, and enjoying the places you go to.
You can´t guess the word you need in an exam, worried, thinking, like a lion trying to find the right pray.
You can´t count on a friend to help you with a relationship, you need to learn how to do it yourself, you need to be the sun, alone, no one helping him with anything.
There´s things in life you can count on, but there things that you need to do them by yourself. It’s your birthday and you want a bike, your mother hates bikes so she says “You can´t have it all son, deal with it.”

Jasper Yellow Benjamin Moore 2024-50

 Sleeping,
Enjoying,
The room was silent,
Until,
The radiant light started
Coming in,
It was her,
Once again.

She looks at me,
Like a lemur,
fragile,
Big eyes,
And a majestic smile.

She is the sun,
Glowing,
And remaining always
On my mind.

The fragrant smell of her
Body,
Reminds me of
The beautiful sky.

Her hair,
Is like the rays of the sun,
Long,
Shiny,
and  tangled in my fingers.

Jasper Yellow,
Bright stars,
Gleaming constantly
On my mind.

We need an Assembly

We need an assembly,
To get order,
To discuss,
To organize ourselves.

The noise of the conch,ß Imagery

Makes order,
And establishes the right to speak.

You need to work hard,
Like dreams,ß Smile
Like nightmare.

We are the island,ß Metaphor
Alone,
No help,
Just waiting to get rescued.

Time is racing rapidly,ß Alliteration
Seconds,
Minutes,
Hours,
Days.

Where I’m from

I am from Panama, from Queso Chela and Panaderia YeYo.
I from the white walls, comfortable sofa, red rugs, and the quiet sound of the hallway.
I from Saturday dinners, good times, from Osvaldo and Alvaro and Alexa.
I am from the discussions with my mother and the fights with my brother.
From “Don´t do that” and “Be careful”.
I am from not going to church and spend more time with my friends.
I am from U.S.A, the hamburgers and the hotdogs.
I am from the bicycle ride with my family and the games of basketball with my brother.
I am from having braces and not having memories without them.
I am form Panama City, from the rainforest and the Canal.
I am from the ocean, from Contadora and Coronado.
I am from the plants, from the Bamboo and the Oak tree, from the tree houses that I built with my brother.
I am from Costa del Este, form the huge houses and the majestic landscapes.
I am from Copa, from the airplanes and the runways.
I am from playing sports with my dad, having a good relationship, enjoying the time that I am with him.
I am from my mom, the discussions, the hate, the love and the hugs.
The moments, the family, the happy times and the sad times, all those branches go around the immense world, forming the biggest tree of all.

Japan

On March 11, 2011, there was an earthquake in Japan at 2:46 p.m. This was followed by a huge tsunami. The scientists said that this was the third strongest earthquake recorded. They were right; the Richter scale facilitated the scientist´s job by giving them information about the quake.
The magnitude of the earthquake was 8.9 and the tsunami caused copious amount of water to come in the city of Sendai. The water did not decelerate until destroying most of the city.
This was a crucial event in history. The citizens of Japan had to grapple with the destruction of the city, they had to search through the debris to find there love ones. The adept, highly trained dogs have been deployed around Japan trying to find bodies through the debris.
When I heard about this, I felt a pang of sadness. The destruction of the earthquake and tsunami preceded the damage to the nuclear reactor, which now is threatening the Japanese people.
After a fitful sleep, the azure of morning appears in the city of Sendai.  The fastidious rescuers start searching right away, looking carefully through every inch of debris. They are looking for survivors, but the screams for help are barely audible.
The capacious shelters in Japan are full; there are many people without a place to live.           The refuges are full of innocent kids, who banter with each other as if nothing has happened.

Knots In My Yo-yo String

Knots in My Yo-Yo String is an autobiography written by Jerry Spinelli. The book describes the life of Jerry Spinelli from the time he was a kid to the time he was a senior in college. This book describes Jerry´s character, feelings, and the way his life was. The author wrote this book in his adulthood, all this stories inside Knots in my yo-yo string took place in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
The tittle of the book is related to the story because when he goes to high school everything begins to go wrong and not being able to get out like having knots on your yo-yo string, each knot represents a problem.
This story has twenty four chapters, and each chapter is based on an event that happened in his life.
When he got to high school, he had nothing. When his dog died, he gave up all he had, so he began to write stories. He continued writing, but not being able to find a publisher.
He went to college and still was writing, each time more. After college he got married with a lady that already had six kids. Those six kids made Jerry Spinelli had his first successful story. The story talks about how the six kids ate his food without him knowing, this made him famous.
“Lash La Rue,” was the chapter I enjoyed the most. It tells us about how everybody loved being Roy Rogers at a cowboy game, but Jerry wanted to be different than others (original), he chose to be Lash La Rue a cowboy that is not well known.
My favorite line was:
“I was off with the gun. My memory of those fifty yards has nothing to do with sprinting but rather with two sensations. The first surprise is that I could not see any runners. This lead to a conclusion: I must be ahead! Which led to the second sensation: an anxious expectation, a waiting to be overtaken? I never was. I won.” (18% Kindle). This line caught my attention because it was hilarious how he wasn´t expecting to win, but when he realized he was first he couldn´t believe it.

I believe

I believe that all people have a reason to live.

I believe that things happen for a reason.

I believe that life isn´t fair.

I believe that in life you family is the most important thing.

I believe in being you at any occasion.

I believe that falling into peer pressure is showing everybody that you are weak.

I believe that your disabilities are for a reason.

I believe that a visit to the doctor can save your life.

I believe that a single action can lead to suicide.

I believe that taking your electronics away is not a way of punishment.

I believe that doing exercise makes you feel better.

I believe that disabilities should not limit you.

I believe that a punishment is not a way of solving things.

And I believe that things can pull down,
So as things can pull you up and make you stronger.

Ricardo Martinelli was having problems his drug addiction. The dissension of the executive branch was leaving the country in a state of anarchy.
People began having ideas to have a re-election. They began protesting in the streets.

The government assimilated what the people were protesting for, so they decided to approve the re-election. In the election Martinelli lost and the new president Andres Heilbron is in power.

Andres did all his decisions in a meticulous way. He approved a law that states that there is no school on Mondays.  After approving that law, he was lionized by the students.
